Chicken Tractors

"Chicken tractors" are movable pens used to house poultry during the warmer months.
The pens range in size from 4 ft. X 10 ft. X 3 ft. high, to much larger sizes. It allows the poultry to range and scratch in the fields while protecting them from the dangers of predators.

Advantages of chicken tractors are:

Poultry can scratch and feed on the natural foods and grit found in the soil
By moving the pens daily, chicken tractors can provide manure to the soil without causing damage from excess nitrogen (due to manure/ammonia)
Keeps the poultry in a clean and safe environment
Cuts down on disease
Reduces feed costs

In other words, it's good for the poultry, soil, and the pocketbook!
